Cheryl Cisneros is an innovative and experienced health care management professional with over twenty years’ experience including credentialing, privileging, managed care, provider enrollment, utilization management, quality improvement and case management. She is recognized nationally as an enterprise-wide process redesign expert with demonstrated ability to synthesize workflows into a collective and focused vision endorsed by key stakeholders. She has directed initiatives with outcome-based solutions, interpreting workflows and facilitating integration into software. Cheryl is a leader within the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) and is a subject matter expert, knowledgeable in regulatory bodies, which include The Joint Commission (TJC), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA), and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Cheryl provides management consulting services for Morrisey. She was most recently involved in managing the provider enrollment and credentialing operations for Novant Health Medical Group (Charlotte, NC) a physician group at a large integrated health care system. Cheryl spent over fifteen years with Advocate Health Care (Chicago, IL) which included managing an NCQA certified Central Verification Office (CVO), managed care committee as well as the business redesign of credentialing processes for a health care network of over 8000 practitioners in collaboration with eleven hospitals, Physician Hospital Organizations, medical groups and surgical centers.
Cheryl is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois and holds a dual certification: Certified Professional Medical Staff Services Management (CPMSM) and Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).
Cheryl has presented education sessions at the NAMSS Educational Conference and at the Morrisey Technology and Educational Conference. Her roles as a member of NAMSS have included Conference Committee member, Vice Chair, Membership Committee (current) and Chair of the Managed Care Task Force (current), the NAMSS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NAMSS Educational Programs (current).
